Qualifications: 

Required:  Minimum of 36 College credit hours and must poses a substitute or teaching certificate or completion of the 20 hour Frontline Course. (no vocational or theological credit hours can be accepted). 

Preferred:  Previous experience.

 

FLSA:  Non-Exempt

Salary Schedule: Per Approved Educational Support Salary Schedule

Direct Report: Building Principal

Terms of Employment:  9 Month

Eligible for emergency telework: With Supervisor approval

 

Purpose:  To enable each child to pursue their education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
  • To "telework" when requested by the District.
  • Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building.
  • Review with the principal, department head, team leader, or building secretary all plans, and schedules to be followed during the teaching day.
  • Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned.
  • Teaches the lesson as planned by the classroom teacher.
  • Consults as appropriate, with the building principal, department head, or team leader before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified by the absent classroom teacher.
  • Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in the class and during lunch and recess periods.
  • Reports in writing on the day’s activities at the conclusion of each teaching day.
  • Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
  • Other duties assigned
