This position will receive an annual stipend of $7,500.

 

Qualifications: 

Required: Bachelor’s degree with a valid Missouri teaching certificate.  At least three years of successful teaching experience as measured by performance evaluations, promotions, value-added student outcomes and other evidence of instructional excellence.

 

Preferred: Master’s degree

 

FLSA: Exempt

Purpose:   Academic Lab Lead Teachers directly teach a classroom of students, but also work collaboratively with district and school administration to provide targeted instructional leadership at the classroom, school, and district level. Through the demonstration of instructional expertise and coaching skills, these teacher leaders support peers in developing their classroom practices to meet student needs and curricular demands. Academic Lab Lead Teachers provide opportunity for formal and informal classroom observations and reflect with teachers to help connect observation feedback to steps for improvement. Academic Lab Lead Teachers will be chosen through a competitive, rigorous, performance-based selection process and be placed in an Elementary Title 1 Building. Academic Lab Lead Teachers must have expert curricular knowledge, outstanding instructional skills, and the ability to work effectively with other adults. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
  • To “telework” when requested by the District.
  • Demonstrated expertise in content, curriculum development, student learning, assessment analysis, mentoring, and demonstrates use of professional learning to better classroom practices.
  • Student data that illustrates the ability to increase student achievement through utilizing specific instructional strategies.
  • Instructional expertise and collaboration demonstrated through model teaching, team-teaching, video of classroom practices, and student achievement gains.
  • Excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to facilitate professional growth in adults.
  • Other duties assigned.
