Qualifications: 

Required: 

Must hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education and /or a Psychological Examiner’s Certificate. Must have an ECSE certification. Must be willing to take additional courses in testing and counseling if needed.

 

FLSA: Exempt

Salary Schedule:  Per Approved Salary Schedule

Direct Report:  Director of Special Programs

Terms of Employment:  196 Days

Eligible for emergency telework: Yes

 

Purpose: The goal of the Early Childhood Special Education Process Consultant is to facilitate the special education process at the building level, to maintain compliance, and to assist SPED staff with meeting the individual needs of SJSD students.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
  • To "telework" when requested by the District.
  • Serve as liaison between District Office Special Education Department and assigned school Administrator and Special Education Staff.
  • Administer intelligence and psycho-educational assessments when appropriate.
  • Establishes timelines for special education staff for completion of paperwork for each process/ procedure outlined by the District and State Plan.
  • Provides leadership and monitor Special Education compliance/process in assigned buildings.
  • Interprets special education assessment results and the instructional implications as stated in the evaluation report.
  • Coordinates appropriate data to assist the Director and Coordinator of Federal Programs upon request.
  • Participate in and conduct Professional Development in-services.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies regarding special education students.
  • Other job duties as assigned by the Director of Special Services.
